Bengaluru: Sergeant Gowri S set a new meet record while winning gold in the Open 3 Position event as cadets from the NCC Directorate Karnataka and Goa secured two gold and three bronze medals at the All India GV Mavalankar Shooting Competition.
Gowri, from 1 Karnataka Battalion NCC, was among the gold medallists alongside Senior Under Officer Yogaraj Ramagonatti of 28 Karnataka Battalion NCC, who won the Open Prone event, according to a September 24 statement from the Defence Wing of the Press Information Bureau.
Six cadets also qualified to represent the directorate at national-level competitions, the statement said, highlighting qualifications for the upcoming National Shooting Championship.
NCC Deputy Director General Air Commodore Kamal Chadha congratulated the cadets and officials, praising their dedication and focus. He said their performance reflected the finest traditions of the National Cadet Corps.
