BENGALURU:
In a shocking revelation, the government has acknowledged that 214 taluks in the state face severe drought conditions. Former Chief Minister and JDS State President H.D. Kumaraswamy has criticized the current Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for his questionable actions during this crisis. The Chief Minister seem to be indulging in unnecessary celebrations and dancing, Kumaraswamy criticized.
Speaking to media on Saturday at the party office Kumaraswamy said: “With a staggering amount of 529 crores in the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF), the minister claims to have deposited the money. However, media reports continue to highlight the widespread drought situation, leaving citizens in distress. Instead of addressing the issue, the Chief Ministers seem to be indulging in unnecessary celebrations and dancing. This insensitive behavior towards the suffering of the people is truly disheartening.”
Kumaraswamy expressed his disappointment, stating that he had hoped to offer some solutions to the hardships faced by the farmers.
He also highlighted the broken promises made by the Congress party before the 2018 elections. The farmers were assured a sum of ten thousand rupees, but the funds were never allocated to the government treasury.
Furthermore, the Congress government discontinued the “Kisan Samman” scheme, which had been implemented during the BJP government’s tenure. Kumaraswamy criticized this move, emphasizing that the government’s claims of providing a safety net for the people were nothing more than empty promises.
