BENGALURU: A Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus veered off the carriageway and hit the retaining wall on the flyover near Adakamaranahalli along the Nelamangala highway. The bus was left hanging precariously between the two carriageways on the flyover, resulting in injuries to eight passengers, the driver, and the conductor. They were promptly taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The incident occurred on Saturday morning as the bus was en route from Somwarpet in Kodagu district to Bengaluru.
With a total of 35 passengers on board at the time of the accident, the situation could have been much worse. The driver reportedly lost control while attempting to overtake another vehicle, leading to the bus’s dangerous position on the flyover.
Fortunately, all passengers involved in the incident managed to escape without serious harm. The potential for multiple casualties was high had the bus fallen through the gap between the carriageways.
