BENGALURU: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has imposed a fined of Rs 5,000 on a paying guest accommodation located on Kattiganahalli Main Road at Byatarayanpura, Yelahanka for throwing waste into the neighbour’s compound.
The corporation took action after a complaint was filed against the PG accommodation for non-compliance of BBMP rules.
There were complaints that PG inmates were not maintaining cleanliness and following waste management rules. The neighbours had complained several times to the PG owner that the inmates were throwing waste and plastics from their windows into the compound of the neighbouring building. The neighbours also tried to reason with the inmates to follow clean rules and keep their surroundings clean.

When nothing worked, they approached the BBMP and filed a complaint following which a penalty was imposed.
