Bengaluru: Under the direction of Commissioner D.S. Ramesh, Additional Commissioner Lokhande Snehal Sudhakar conducted an inspection of ongoing road and infrastructure development works in K.R. Puram Division, part of the Chief Minister’s Infrastructure Development Programme (CMIDP). The focus was on reviewing the quality of these essential projects within the Bengaluru East City Corporation limits.

Progress on various roads includes:

  • Bethel Nagar Road (1.2 km): Desilting works are currently underway in drains along Bethel Nagar Road. Officials were directed to ensure thorough desilting to facilitate smooth rainwater runoff, with high-quality asphalt laying scheduled upon completion of civil works.
  • Krishna Theatre Road (1.7 km): Development of footpaths and removal of encroachments obstructing pedestrian access are in progress. Authorities were urged to expedite footpath completion to safeguard pedestrian movement and prepare for upcoming asphalting tasks.
  • T.C. Palya Road (approximately 2 km): Ongoing inner ward road development, including concrete works and crossroad enhancements, aims to bolster infrastructure in the T.C. Palya area. Officials have been instructed to maintain high-quality standards throughout the process.
  • Fire Station Road (ITPL Road): A 450-meter stretch of Fire Station Road is currently undergoing development. Officials were also tasked with clearing encroachments on footpaths to enhance pedestrian safety and convenience.

Additionally, the Additional Commissioner highlighted the urgent need for the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) to address the issue of sewage water discharging into drains near ITPL Road.

These projects aim to enhance road quality, ensure effective drainage management, and improve safety and traffic flow for pedestrians in the K.R. Puram Division, as emphasized by the Additional Commissioner. The inspection included the Chief Engineer, Executive Engineers, Assistant Executive Engineers, and other key officials.
