KEA Uploads OMR Sheets Immediately After KSRP Constable Exam; Over 1.44 Lakh Candidates Appear for 2,314 Posts
Bengaluru: The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) scanned and uploaded candidates’ OMR sheets to its website immediately after the written examination for 2,314 Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP) constable posts on Sunday, as more than 1.44 lakh candidates appeared for the recruitment test across the two categories.
KEA Executive Director H. Prasanna said the examination was conducted smoothly, with separate sessions for the residual cadre and Kalyana Karnataka cadre candidates.
The morning examination for the residual cadre was attended by 1,12,125 candidates out of 1,42,912 registered candidates, translating into an attendance of 78%.
The afternoon examination for the Kalyana Karnataka cadre recorded higher attendance. Of the 38,332 candidates registered, 32,694 appeared for the examination, accounting for 85%.
Taken together, 1,44,819 candidates appeared for the two examinations for recruitment to 2,314 KSRP constable posts.
OMR Sheets Scanned Immediately After Exam
A key feature of the examination process was the handling of Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheets immediately after completion of the test.
Prasanna said the OMR copies were scanned as soon as the examination concluded and subsequently uploaded to the KEA website.
The scanning was decentralised across three locations. OMR sheets from the respective regions were scanned in Bengaluru, Mysuru and Kalaburagi before being uploaded online.
The measure provides candidates access to their OMR copies following the written examination.
Command Centre Monitored Examination Centres
KEA also established a command centre at the Authority to monitor examination centres through webcasting.
The system enabled the Authority to keep watch over the examination centres during the recruitment test.
According to KEA, both sessions of the written examination for the 2,314 KSRP constable posts were completed smoothly.
