KEA MPT Entrance Exam on September 19 Draws Student Complaints Over Short Notice, Hall Tickets and Lack of Exam Details
Bengaluru: Candidates scheduled to appear for the MPT Entrance Examination on September 19 have raised concerns over what they describe as short notice for the test, difficulty accessing hall tickets and a lack of clarity on the examination pattern and other key details.
In an email circulated to media organisations, a group identifying itself as MPT Entrance Examination Candidates, Karnataka, said the examination notification was issued less than three weeks before the test, while the September 19 examination date was communicated less than three days in advance.
The candidates said the examination reportedly covers the complete four-year Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) syllabus and argued that the limited notice has left them with inadequate time to prepare.
They have also sought clarity from the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) on the examination pattern, structure, marking scheme, duration and other test-related details, saying such information should be communicated sufficiently in advance for candidates preparing for a competitive entrance examination.
Hall-ticket access is another issue raised in the email. The candidates said several applicants have faced difficulty downloading their hall tickets. According to them, the application process concluded on September 10, but examination-related communication and hall-ticket access were not provided sufficiently in advance.
The candidates said the short notice has also created logistical difficulties because applicants are travelling from different districts across Karnataka.
Students who need to reach the examination venue from outside Bengaluru may have to arrange transportation and accommodation, while some candidates also need to obtain leave from work or internships, they said.
The candidates stressed that they were not seeking to avoid the entrance examination but wanted what they described as a fair, transparent and professionally communicated examination process.
They have urged KEA and the authorities concerned to consider their representations, provide clear examination guidelines and take an appropriate decision regarding the September 19 examination.
The Bengaluru Live has shared a copy of the candidates’ email with KEA authorities and sought their response to the concerns raised. A response is awaited.
