KEA Medical, Dental Counselling 2026: Second-Round Provisional Allotment on Sept 11; Choice-4 Exit Window Open Till Sept 14
Bengaluru, September 11: The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) will publish the UGCET-2026 second-round provisional seat allotment result for medical and dental courses after 2 pm on September 11, while candidates participating in both MCC and KEA counselling have been given a separate Choice-4 window from 3 pm on September 11 to 5 pm on September 14 to exit KEA counselling in specified circumstances.
According to a KEA notification dated September 10, the provisional allotment will be prepared on the basis of the options exercised by candidates seeking admission to medical and dental courses. The second-round provisional seat allotment result is scheduled to be published after 2 pm on September 11.
KEA has also announced a Choice-4 facility from 3 pm on September 11 until 5 pm on September 14. The facility is relevant to candidates who have participated in both MCC and KEA counselling and have secured a seat through one or both counselling processes.
During the specified period, such candidates can use the candidate verification link, select Choice-4 and exit KEA counselling, the notification said. The window will close at 5 pm on September 14.
The Choice-4 exercise is linked to the processing of the final second-round result. KEA said a re-run will be carried out because of the Choice-4 process before the final result is published.
The Authority said that, during this re-run, medical seats already allotted in the second round could undergo changes, including possible upgradation to higher-order options, depending on seat availability and the applicable allotment rules.
KEA’s notification specifically states that candidates will be considered for possible upgradation to higher-order option seats during the re-run, subject to the availability of seats and the rules governing allotment.
This means the provisional allotment published on September 11 should not be treated as the final second-round allotment. The Choice-4 decisions made during the September 11-14 window will be factored into the subsequent re-run before KEA publishes the final result.
The notification is part of KEA’s UGCET-2026 admission process for medical and dental courses and lays down the sequence for the provisional result, the Choice-4 exit facility and processing of the final result.
Candidates covered by the Choice-4 provision have from 3 pm on September 11 to 5 pm on September 14 to complete the process through the candidate verification link and exit KEA counselling, while the provisional second-round result itself is due after 2 pm on September 11.
