Home Minister Araga Jnanendra praises Karnataka police for maintaining law and order
BENGALURU:
The state government has plans to strengthen and upgrade the forensic laboratories in Karnataka as they play a crucial role in the investigation and tracing of criminals, Home Minister Araga Jnanendra said on Wednesday.
Speaking after inaugurating various developmental works instituted by the KSRP wing of the state police, the minister said “there is a proposal to upgrade all the FSLs in the state”.

Praising the Karnataka police for doing a commendable job in maintaining law and order and curbing unlawful activities, he said, “All possible measures will be taken to step up welfare programmes meant for the police personnel in the state.”

Drugs menace
The police department is determined to weed out the drug menace in the state, he said, and added, “It is disheartening to see that the younger generation is falling prey to the menace, and we have a great responsibility to protect them.” Anti-social elements abetted by foreign forces are posing a great challenge to peace and tranquility in the state, he said.

The minister inaugurated the nursery section of the police public school, the new administration building, the KSRP training school and the renovated stadium. He also flagged off six mobile FSLs on the occasion.
Former minister Ramalinga Reddy, Karnataka police chief Praveen Sood, Additional Chief Secretary Rajneesh Goyal, police housing society CMD SN Murthy and ADGP (KSRP) Alok Kumar were among those present.
