Karnataka: Three children drowned in pond
HAVERI:
Three children drowned when they fell into a pit, which was dug to build the foundation of a school building in the town, here this evening.
The victims had been identified as Syed Akmal (08), Syed Ashfaq (10) and Jaffer Anamulla (10).
While Syed Akmal and Syed Ashfaq hailed from Goa, the other boy was a local one, the sources said.
The children, who were sent back from accompanying the market by the family members, however, chose to play near School ground, where they fell into the ditches filled with the rain water and drowned.
A case has been registered in the town police station, into the incident, the sources said. (Agency)
