Karnataka records tsunami of 20,000-plus infections

State has 11,966 active cases, 226 in ICUs

BENGALURU:

Karnataka has crossed the 20,000 mark of Covid infections, of which 226 are in ICUs.

As on Saturday, the total number of infections increased to 21,549. As per the Health Department bulletin, 439 people were discharged from hospitals on Saturday. Altogether 9,244 have been discharged till date, and the state currently has 11,966 active cases.

Other positive cases reported in districts are: Dakshina Kannada 75, Ballari 73, Bidar 51, Dharwad 45, Raichur 41, Mysuru 38, Kalaburagi 37, Vijayapura 37, Mandya 35, Uttara Kannada 35, Shimoga 31, Haveri 28, Belagavi 27, Hassan 25, Udupi 18, Chikkaballapur 12, Tumkur 12, Bangalore Rural 11, Kolar 11, Davanagere 7, Chamarajanagar 5, Gadag 4, Koppal 3, Chikkamagaluru 3, Ramanagara 2, Yadgiri 1 . No infections were detected in Bagalkot, Chitradurga and Kodagu districts.
