Bengaluru: Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Bengaluru Urban and Bengaluru Rural on September 24, accompanied by sustained winds of 30–40 kmph, according to the India Meteorological Department.
For Bengaluru city and its neighbourhood, the department forecast generally cloudy skies and sustained winds of 30–40 kmph over the next 24 hours in its afternoon bulletin. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 29°C and 20°C.
The 48-hour outlook for the city indicated partly cloudy skies, with maximum and minimum temperatures of about 30°C and 20°C.
Heavy rain forecast for coastal and interior districts
The IMD forecast isolated heavy rain or thundershowers with sustained winds of 30–40 kmph in districts including Uttara Kannada, Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Vijayapura, Kalaburagi, Yadgir, Raichur, Shivamogga and Chikkamagaluru. Its rainfall warning map marked these districts yellow for the period ending at 8.30 am on September 25.
The six-page daily bulletin was issued by the Meteorological Centre, Bengaluru, at 1 pm on September 24. Its observations recorded at 8.30 am showed 13 cm of rain at Karwar, 11 cm at Agumbe AWS, 10 cm at Siddapura in Udupi district and 8 cm at Ankola. The southwest monsoon was active over coastal Karnataka and normal over the interior.
