After the 10K mark, Karnataka breached the 11,000 mark on Friday with 445 new positive cases and 10 deaths. The day also saw 246 patients getting discharged statewide.
This takes the state’s tally to 11,005 positive cases, inclusive of 180 deaths and 6,916 discharges.
The health department bulletin said that of the 3,905 active cases, 3,727 are in hospitals and 178 in ICUs.
Friday’s deaths include 3 from Bengaluru Urban and one each from Kolar, Dharwad, Shivamogga, Bagalkote, Bidar, Kalaburagi and Ballari.
The day’s new cases include 65 returnees from other states and 21 overseas returnees, while the others are contacts of earlier patients, inter-district travellers and cases of SARI/ILI.
Friday’s case break-up is: Bengaluru Urban 144, Ballari 47, Kalaburagi 42, Koppal 36, Dakshina Kannada 33, Dharwad 30, Raichur 14, Gadag 12, Chamarajanagar 11, Udupi 9, Yadgir 7, Mandya, Uttara Kannada, Bagalkote, Shivamogga and Kolar 6 each, Mysuru 5, Chikkamagaluru and Kodagu 4 each, Hassan and Bengaluru Rural 3 each, Vijayapura, Tumakuru and Haveri 2 each, and Bidar, Belagavi, Davanagere, Ramanagara and Chitradurga one each.
Bengaluru Urban leads with 1,935 infections, followed by Kalaburagi at 1,331 and Udupi at 1,125.
Among discharges, Udupi tops with 1,028, followed by Kalaburagi at 935 and Yadgir at 685.
