Jumbo Savari to be limited to 5 elephants: CM

BENGALURU:

Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has proposed that this year’s Dasara celebrations should be low-key.  Addressing a high-level committee meeting on Monday, the CM said the traditional rituals would continue, but in a simpler form and with fewer participants.

A sum of Rs 10 crore will be allocated for the festivities. However, food fairs, sports events and  ‘Yuva Dasara’ will be dropped. The famous Jumbo Savari too will be limited to 5 elephants.
