Forest officials here have arrested a gang that was poaching blackbucks for their skin and horns.
The accused are identified as Tugleppa, Sharanappa Chauhana, Mallayya Hiremath, Shivayya Hiremath, Sangappa Kattimani and Hanumantha Kattimani, residents of Hunsihaala village in Yalaburga taluk.
Forest officials under cover of being purchasers nabbed the accused. 20 blackbuck skins, 2 blackbuck horns, a deer skin, and 3 bikes were seized.
Officials said the gang used to sell blackbuck skins for Rs 50,000 in Bengaluru and Mangaluru.
