I-T sleuths raid medical colleges across Karnataka
In Bengaluru, search includes prestigious BGS Hospital and Research Institute

Medical colleges in Karnataka are the latest to attract the attention of the Income-Tax Department, with its sleuths carrying out raids on Wednesday morning at various institutions in Bengaluru, Mangaluru and Davanagere. According to sources in the I-T department, its sleuths were accompanied by Enforcement Directorate officials.
As per Kannada news channels, among the medical institutions searched in Bengaluru were the prestigious BGS Hospital and Research Institute, Sapthagiri Medical College on Hesaraghatta Road and Akash Medical College in Devanahalli. The Malleswaram residence of Sapthagiri College owner Dayananda was also searched by the sleuths.
In Mangaluru, the raids were carried out at AJ Shetty’s Hospital at Bendoorwell as well as at his residence, and at Yenepoya Hospital, Srinivasa Medical College and Kanachur Hospital.
Six locations were searched in Davanagere, including JJM, SS Medical College and Bapuji Dental College.
