Bommai walked towards waterline unmindful of high tide hazard

UDUPI:

Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai had a narrow escape from possible drowning when he ventured too close to the waterline during high tide on Tuesday.

He was in Padubidri in the district for a recce of the rain situation.

Throwing caution to the winds, he walked jauntily towards the waterline as the tide was coming in. Fortunately, local BJP leader Uday Kumar helped him keep his footing even as he was drenched.

As it happened, all the minister lost was a sandal! But he was surely setting a wrong example by not being mindful of the district administration’s warning to people to stay away from the seashore during the rainy season.

#Udupi pic.twitter.com/P5AhbWI2z0
