BENGALURU:

BBMP and Manipal Health Enterprises signed an MoU on Thursday to set up a hi-tech lab in Malleswaram to provide medical testing facilities for economically weaker sections at discounted rates.

The MoU was inked in the presence of Dr CN Ashwath Narayan, Minister for Higher Education and IT/BT, who is also the MLA from Malleswaram.

“As per the MoU, the lab will start functioning in 45 days on the first floor of the BengaluruOne building near the Chandrashekhar Azad sports ground. It will offer 30% reduced rates compared to other diagnostic centres. Besides, there will be a discount of 50% for BPL cardholders and a reduction of 40% for APL cardholders. This discount can be availed by those who come with prescriptions from PHCs or government hospitals,” the Minister explained.
