The Karnataka High Court has directed the CID to probe the alleged fraud involving Guru Raghavendra Co-operative Bank and Guru Saravabhouma Souharda Credit Co-operative Society.

The division bench headed by Chief Justice AS Oka, hearing the petition filed by Basavanagudi resident KR Narasimhamurthy and others, directed the DGP to form a special investigation team headed by the DIG to investigate the scam.

The ACB and CID had both filed separate FIRs in connection with the case during the previous hearing. Following an application by the plaintiffs, the court asked the CID to submit the case report at the next hearing. The CID should consider the applicant’s submission for attachment of the bank’s property, the bench said.

Meanwhile, a government-appointed administrator for the bank has directed the management to submit a status report on the recovery of the ‘loans’.
