Grim Friday: 101 deaths, 6,670 positives, ‘only’ 3,951 discharges

Friday was more along predictable lines for the state as it recorded a huge 6, 670 positive cases while seeing ‘only’ 3,951 people getting discharged. The death toll also crossed the century mark at 101, taking the total toll to 2,998.

The total number of cases in Karnataka has touched 1,64,924. Of these, 84,232 have recovered and been discharged from hospitals. Karnataka still has 77,686 active cases, which is less than the number of discharges reported. 678 people are receiving treatment in ICUs.

Bengaluru reported 2,147 positive cases and 1,131 discharges. The total number of positive cases in Silicon City now stands at 69,572, of which 35,063 have been discharged while 33,308 are active cases. Bengaluru has also reported 1,200 deaths.

Other districts

This apart, Ballari district has reported the second highest infections with 684 positive cases. The other cases are: Belagavi 390, Kalaburagi 271, Dharwad 266, Udupi 246, Mysuru 242, Koppal 173, Raichur 171, Dakshina Kannada 166, Shivamogga 151, Bagalkot 148, Vijayapura 143, Hassan 138, Uttara Kannada 120, Bengaluru Rural 119, Davanagere 111, Gadag 105, Mandya 102, Ramanagara 93, Haveri 90, Kolar 88, Bidar 84, Tumkur 76, Yadagiri 70, Chikkamagalur 65, Chikkaballapur 64, Chamarajanagar 63 and Chitradurga 57.
