IAS officer Gaurav Gupta
Will run the show till new council is elected
BENGALURU:
Senior IAS officer Gaurav Gupta is the new BBMP administrator. A government order to the effect issued on Thursday.
A 1990 batch Karnataka cadre IAS officer, Gupta’s name was finalized after a meeting of Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa with Chief Secretary TM Vijay Bhaskar and the CM’s Additional Chief Secretary EV Ramana Reddy on Thursday morning.
Gupta currently heads the Commerce & Industries Department in the rank of Principal Secretary, and is senior to BBMP Commissioner N Manjunatha Prasad who is a 1994 batch IAS officer. Gupta has experience of working in BBMP as special commissioner in 2007, during the then administrator’s rule.
