Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Thursday inaugurated a 210 million litre-capacity interim waste water treatment plant constructed by BWSSB at the National Games Village in Koramangala.
The plant was inaugurated remotely from the CM’s home office ‘Krishna’. Urban Development Minister Byrathi Basavaraj, Chief Secretary T M Vijay Bhaskar and BWSSB Chairman Jayaram were present.
The waste water will be pumped every day from Koramangala Sports Complex and sent to the Koramangala and Challaghatta Valley (K&C Valley) sewage treatment plant, from where the treated water will enter Bellandur lake.
The maintenance of the plant for the next seven years has been awarded to a private company.
