Former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda’s Wife Chennamma Dies After Prolonged Illness
Bengaluru: Chennamma, wife of former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda, died on Saturday after undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Bengaluru following a prolonged illness.
According to information available, Chennamma had been suffering from age-related ailments and respiratory complications for the past few months. She was admitted to Manipal Hospital in Bengaluru four days ago after her condition worsened and was being treated in the intensive care unit (ICU).
Hospital sources said she initially responded to treatment and was placed on ventilator support. However, her condition deteriorated later, and despite continued treatment by a team of specialist doctors, she reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest at around 4.40 pm and passed away.
Family members, including Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda, Nikhil Kumaraswamy, and other relatives, were present at the hospital.
