BY Vijayendra files complaint with cyber crime cops
BENGALURU:
A fake tweet in the name of Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa’s son BY Vijayendra ‘supporting’ actress Ragini Dwivedi, who has been arrested by the CCB in the drugs case, has created a flutter among netizens. The fake tweet, disowned by Vijayendra, who is the state BJP vice-president, tried to create an impression that the BJP was supporting the actress.
The fake Twitter account was created using BY Vijayendra’s name and photo. It said: “The BJP party will stand by the star campaigner of the BJP, actress Ragini, during her difficult times. As a party vice- president, I have consulted with her and promised to give her full legal assistance.”
On Saturday, BY Vijayendra tweeted that the false message from a fake account was meant to mislead people. He stated, “A complaint has been filed with the cyber crime police that someone has maliciously created a fake account in my name on Twitter, sending false information and misleading messages. Everyone should be wary of such efforts.”
