Early morning search of actress’s 2 flats in Yelahanka, one in Indiranagar

After a three-hour search early on Friday at 3 flats belonging to Sandalwood actress Ragini Dwivedi by CCB sleuths, the actress was taken into custody at 9.30 am for further questioning.
The searches, which started at 6.30 am, were conducted simultaneously at 2 flats in HRC Ananya in Yelahanka’s Judicial Layout, and at another flat in Indiranagar.
As per sources, several police personnel, including women, searched her car and every nook and cranny in her flats, including even the flower pots.
Ragini was reportedly shocked to see the cops at her doorstep early in the morning. Four mobile phones and several other electronic gadgets were reportedly seized.
Search warrant
“In the drugs case investigation, the CCB took a search warrant from the court,” an investigating officer said.
Earlier, Ragini’s close friend Ravishankar, who works in the RTO department, was arrested on Thursday evening.
The CCB had issued a notice to the actress to appear before the investigating officer on Thursday, but she had had sent her lawyer, saying she would appear before the officer on Monday.
The CCB then issued a second notice to her to appear for an inquiry on Friday.
To hide: Ragini
Ragini had earlier tweeted, “I consider it my duty as a citizen to humbly participate in any questioning that the police might have. I have nothing to hide and have no connection with any unlawful activity which is being probed by the CCB police.”
She said her advocates had appeared on her behalf before the police and explained her inability to turn up. Her lawyers had sought time till Monday. “As I received it (notice) at very short notice, I was unable to appear today before the CCB police…. I am committed to appear on Monday morning before the police,” she had tweeted.
Dwivedi, whose family hails from Revari in Haryana, was born in Bengaluru. She made her debut in Sandalwood with ‘Veera Madakari’ in 2009. She shot to fame for her roles in ‘Kempe Gowda’, ‘Ragini IPS’, ‘Bangari’ and ‘Shiva’.
