Bengaluru: Director General of the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Sonali Mishra (IPS), conducted a comprehensive security and operational inspection of key railway stations in the Bengaluru Division, focusing on summer rush preparedness, passenger safety, and modernization of security systems.

The visit began at Bengaluru Cantonment Railway Station, where she was received by senior South Western Railway officials and accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour. She appreciated the discipline and turnout of the RPF contingent.

During her day-long tour, the DG inspected major stations including KSR Bengaluru, Krishnarajapuram, and Sir M. Visvesvaraya Terminal (SMVT) Bengaluru, reviewing arrangements for handling increased passenger flow during the summer season and the creation of dedicated holding areas.

She was accompanied by Divisional Railway Manager Ashutosh Kumar Singh, along with senior RPF and railway officials including Additional Director General Sarvapriya Mayank, IG RPSF Sumiti Shandilya, IG RPF/SWR RSP Singh, ADRM Parikshit Mohanpuriya, DIG Railways J.K. Rashmi, SP Railways Sarah Fatima, and Senior Divisional Security Commissioner Dr. Shreyans Chinchawade.

The DG reviewed key passenger areas, including CCTV surveillance systems and baggage scanners, and inspected the Integrated CCTV Command Centre to assess live monitoring capabilities, coverage, and technical efficiency. She issued directions to further strengthen surveillance infrastructure.

At SMVT Bengaluru, she evaluated modern facilities with a focus on crowd management and deployment of RPF personnel at entry and exit points. At Krishnarajapuram, she assessed security arrangements at the busy junction that connects long-distance routes.

Addressing officers and staff during a ‘Sainik Sammelan,’ Mishra stressed the importance of using advanced technology and data analytics to combat organized crime and human trafficking on the railway network. She also interacted with frontline personnel to understand their concerns and welfare needs.

Concluding her visit, the DG expressed satisfaction with the overall security preparedness of the Bengaluru Division and directed officials to maintain high vigilance while adopting a citizen-centric approach to ensure safe travel for passengers.
