Woman Found Dead in Suspicious Circumstances in Bengaluru Apartment, Police Probe Underway
Bengaluru: A 34-year-old woman was found dead under suspicious circumstances inside her rented apartment in the Adugodi area of Bengaluru, triggering a detailed police investigation into the case.
The deceased has been identified as Pooja Dutta, a native of Jharkhand, who had been living alone in the apartment for the past couple of years and was employed at a private company in the city.
According to preliminary information, the body was discovered in a decomposed state after neighbours reported a foul smell emanating from the house. Police officials rushed to the spot and found the woman dead inside the apartment.
Authorities suspect that the death may have occurred nearly three days before it came to light. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death.
During the initial inspection, police observed certain injury marks on the neck and hand of the deceased, raising suspicions of possible foul play. However, officials have not ruled out any angle, including suicide, and are investigating all possibilities.
Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and Scene of Crime (SoCo) teams have visited the spot and are collecting evidence. Police are also examining documents found inside the apartment to determine if any clues related to the incident can be established.
Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby areas to check if any individual entered or exited the premises around the time of the suspected incident. Efforts are also underway to trace the victimâs colleagues, acquaintances, and family members to gather more information about her recent activities and personal life.
Local residents told police that the woman was last seen a few days ago. It is also being examined whether she had any recent disputes or interactions that could be relevant to the case.
Police officials have registered a case of unnatural death and stated that the exact cause will be determined only after the post-mortem report and forensic analysis are completed.
