IAS Officer Nakul S.S. Given Additional Charge as KSFC Managing Director

The video of the inhumane (to put it mildly) dumping of corona victims in a common pit in Ballari, which went viral and shamed Karnataka at the national level, has forced the district’s Deputy Commissioner SS Nakul to apologise on behalf of the administration for the gruesome incident.
In a press note released to media houses, he expressed an unconditional apology. “The district administration regrets the incident and hereby unconditionally apologizes for this incident to the families of the departed in particular and the people of Ballari in general,” Nakul said.
The district had reported eight deaths on Monday. In the video, Health Department staff are seen dumping one bodybag after another into the pit, while a JCB is on ‘standby’ to cover all traces of the crime. The video went viral on social networking sites on Tuesday and caused nationwide outrage.
Deputy Commissioner Nakul has directed his junior PS Manjunatha to conduct an inquiry and submit a report in the next two days.
