Ballari has Monday’s highest corona toll of 12
Not just Bengaluru, Ballari too is showing an alarming trend in Covid cases with the district recording as many as 12 deaths on Monday. The state as a whole reported 19 deaths, with Bengaluru ‘contributing’ 3. Ballari’s toll has now touched 23, stands second after Bengaluru’s 91.
As per the bulletin released by the Health and Family Welfare Department, almost all the Ballari deaths have underlying causes like breathlessness and coughing.
According to Deputy Commissioner SS Nakul, who briefed the media in Ballari, the casualties were a 52-year-old man from Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool district, a 43-year-old male from Rangapur in Koppal district, a 56-year-old man from Dharmasagara in Hospet taluk, and a 66-year-old man from Hospet.
Of the other deaths statewide, a 59-year-old woman died in Bagalkot, a 40-year-old man in Ramanagara, a 49-year-old woman in Dakshina Kannada and a 60-year-old woman in Hassan.
