Crime branch conducted 51 raids, arrested 70 during Lockdown

The Central Central Crime Branch (CCB) police have conducted 51 raids and arrested 70 people in 40 days of the Covid-19 lockdown for indulging in banned activities, according to a tweet by Joint Commissioner (Crime) Sandeep Patil.

Patil said the CCB has raided fake mask and hand sanitiser manufacturers, bootleggers and over-charging vendors of food and other items.

The CCB has also busted online poker gambling and has seized Rs 1.5 crore worth of banned items during the lockdown. Bootleggers using cars for delivery and tobacco product sellers have also been arrested.
