BENGALURU/KOLAR: The Cooperatives Department has initiated an investigation into allegations of corruption within the Kolar Milk Union (Komul). This decision was made by the principal secretary of the department, following a letter from senior Congress MLA S N Narayanaswamy requesting a thorough examination of the accusations.
It has been claimed that corruption occurred within the milk union during the years 2023-24 and 2024-25, specifically relating to the awarding of contracts to MVK Golden Dairy, tender processes for solar pumps, and appointments within the organization. Narayanaswamy brought these concerns to the attention of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Cooperatives Minister Shivanand Patil.
The alleged corruption took place while Malur Congress MLA K Y Nanjegowda was serving as the president of the Komul management committee. The order for the investigation was issued by the Under Secretary of the Cooperatives Department, Ranganath G.
