BENGALURU:
There will soon be a centralised system to classify asymptomatic, symptomatic and mild symptomatic persons and recommend treatment accordingly, said Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar on Tuesday. Existing apps will be brought under one platform and patients will get all information in one phone call, the minister said.
Referring to a company which is providing such services in Delhi and Madhya Pradesh, the minister said a similar system will be implemented in Karnataka. The company has a team of doctors and nurses which guides Covid cases on whether they need hospital treatment or home isolation. Since more than 70% of positive cases are asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic, the load on hospitals can thus be reduced and severe cases can be administered proper treatment. Infosys will provide technical support for this system, Dr.Sudhakar added. The Chief Secretary, representatives of Infosys and Principal Secretary, ITBT, were present during the video conference.
Earlier, the minister addressed heads of private medical colleges, and instructed them to strictly adhere to the government guidelines.
