BWSSB Urges Strict Safety Measures at Sewage Treatment Plants; Chairperson Dr N. Manjula Inaugurates Health & Safety Workshop
Bengaluru, June 30: Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) Chairperson Dr N. Manjula on Monday urged officials and employees to strictly adhere to safety protocols while working at Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
Speaking after inaugurating a Health and Safety Workshop organised by the BWSSB at Cauvery Bhavan, Dr Manjula stressed that employee safety must remain the highest priority and called for the adoption of adequate precautionary measures during day-to-day operations.
She said employees should remain vigilant while carrying out duties at sewage treatment plants and ensure that all prescribed safety procedures are followed to avoid any untoward incidents.
The Chairperson noted that the workshop had been organised with the objective of enhancing awareness about workplace safety and equipping employees with the knowledge required to handle potential risks effectively.
She encouraged participants to engage in open discussions during the workshop, share operational challenges, and collectively identify practical solutions to improve safety standards across BWSSB facilities.
Dr Manjula said such initiatives would help strengthen the Board’s safety culture and contribute to a safer working environment for all employees involved in wastewater treatment operations.
Senior engineers of the BWSSB and employees from the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) division participated in the workshop.
