Bengaluru: The BJP has alleged that Karnataka’s Congress government owes transport corporations ₹6,000 crore under the Shakti scheme and has left ₹1,172 crore in employees’ salaries unpaid.
In a post issued late on Thursday, the party linked the alleged dues to its criticism of the government’s handling of transport finances.
Two separate dues figures alleged
The BJP’s Kannada-language post put the alleged Shakti scheme dues to transport corporations at ₹6,000 crore. It separately claimed ₹1,172 crore in pending salary payments to employees.
The party attacked D.K. Shivakumar and Byrati Suresh over the alleged arrears, calling the administration a government of pending payments.
The amounts are figures alleged by the BJP in its statement. Its accompanying video presents the party’s criticism of the government over transport employees’ concerns.
