GPS-Based Monitoring of Garbage Collection Vehicles
During the visit, officials briefed the Commissioner on the features of the MATRA application, which enables real-time monitoring of garbage collection autos. The application provides detailed information regarding whether vehicles are operating on schedule, the routes covered, distance travelled and the total number of working hours completed by drivers.
Officials informed him that the GPS-enabled application has currently been installed on the mobile phones of 25 garbage collection auto drivers.
Pilot Project in Koramangala Ward
The MATRA application has been launched on a trial basis in Koramangala Ward, following repeated complaints from residents regarding the availability and timing of garbage collection vehicles.
Commissioner Ramesh expressed confidence that the initiative would improve operational efficiency, streamline waste collection and disposal processes, and help address long-standing public grievances related to garbage management.
Orders to Clear Garbage Black Spots
During the inspection, the Commissioner directed officials to immediately clean and permanently eliminate two garbage black spots identified in the Siddhartha Colony area.
He also instructed officials to impose penalties on individuals found dumping waste illegally in the locality.
Measures Against Unauthorized Activities
