Bengaluru: In a tragic and disturbing incident, a 40-year-old woman allegedly killed her 14-year-old daughter before dying by suicide at their residence in Immedihalli near Whitefield.
According to preliminary information from Whitefield Police, the deceased woman has been identified as Suvarna, while her daughter has been identified as Karunya. The incident reportedly took place inside their house, where the mother is suspected to have first suffocated her daughter and later hanged herself from a ceiling fan.
The shocking incident came to light around 11:30 AM when family members, who were present in the house, noticed the situation and alerted the police. At the time of the incident, Suvarna’s husband, Chandrashekar, was reportedly at work.
Police officials rushed to the spot and have begun an investigation. Forensic teams have also visited the scene to collect evidence. Authorities are examining whether a suicide note was left behind.
Initial reports suggest that a family dispute may have led to the extreme step. However, the exact motive behind the incident remains unclear, and police are gathering further details.
The case has raised serious concerns, with investigators probing all possible angles to understand what led to the mother taking such a drastic action involving her own child.
