Bengaluru: Petroleum tankers supplying outlets outside Bengaluru are to be routed away from city roads from November 1, according to the Namma IndianOil Dealers Association (NIPDA), which said formal traffic-police orders would follow.
Tankers supplying retail outlets within Bengaluru will continue to be permitted on city roads, the association said in a release following an October 28 meeting with the Joint Commissioner of Police, Traffic.

Outstation deliveries to use bypass routes
NIPDA said tankers serving other districts must use STRR, Hosur Road and NICE Road as applicable to their destinations. It asked dealers, transporters and terminal operators to prepare for implementation in accordance with the forthcoming official orders.
The meeting included petroleum transporters operating from Devanagundhi and officials from the IndianOil, BPCL and HPCL terminals there.
The association said the routing was intended to reduce congestion while maintaining fuel deliveries to Bengaluru outlets. It also expected shorter travel and turnaround times for tankers travelling towards Nelamangala, Tumakuru, Chitradurga, Mysuru, Chamarajanagar, Ramanagara and Mandya.
NIPDA said the meeting followed its September 4 representation and subsequent weekly follow-ups. The release did not include the final police notification; the routing details above are attributed to the association.
