Bengaluru Fraud Case| Managing Director of BTV News Channel Arrested

Date:

BENGALURU:

The Managing Director (MD) of BTV news channel, G.M. Kumar, has been apprehended in connection with a fraud case. Kumar was taken into custody by the Vijayanagar police station on Saturday.

Based on a non-bailable warrant, the police presented Kumar before the court, which subsequently ordered his detention for 14 days.

The complainant, Ashwin Mahendra, had filed a fraud case against Kumar in 2022 at the Vijayanagar police station.

Ashwin Mahendra and Kumar had jointly established a company called Eagle Sight Media Company, with both serving as directors. However, Kumar allegedly misused Ashwin’s documents to open bank accounts and conducted transactions amounting to millions of rupees. The case has been registered on charges of excessive financial transactions.

Kumar, who had been evading court appearances, had been on the run for a year. Consequently, the court recently issued a non-bailable warrant against him.
