BENGALURU:
BBMP staffers at the civic agency’s HQ at Hudson Circle can now breathe easy after an officer who earlier tested positive for Covid-19 was cleared as negative on a retest.
On Tuesday, Chief Health Officer of BBMP Dr Vijendra Bilaguli released a statement to media which said: “A negative report was issued by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the National Institute of Virology (NIV) report dated 1 June after the officers have been tested for Covid-19.”
Earlier on Monday, one officer who was a contact of infected Padarayanapura corporator Imran Pasha had tested positive. However, doubts about the test prompted a retest and it came back negative.
The names listed in the negative report included BBMP Assistant Commissioner in the Education Department Nagendra Naik, Sandeep P N, Neelesh, Krishna Naik, Mahesh Kumar S, G Vaithilingam, Nagappa Tamana, Basama Nagappa, Parvathi Chanappa, Durgappa, Rukmani, Muthamma Motilal and Mangamma.
