Ballari Surveyor Held in Lokayukta Trap Over Alleged ₹18,000 Bribe for Road Sketch
Ballari: A taluk surveyor in Ballari has been taken into custody after Lokayukta police laid a trap over an alleged ₹18,000 bribe for providing a layout road sketch, according to a case update from the Ballari Lokayukta Superintendent of Police.
Police identified the accused as Hanumanthappa, 51, son of Durgappa, a taluk surveyor in Ballari. They alleged that he demanded and accepted the amount in connection with the sketch requested by the complainant.
Complaint leads to Lokayukta trap
The complaint was lodged by Veeresh, a resident of MRV Layout in Ballari. The trap was conducted by the Ballari Lokayukta Police Station, with Police Inspector Guranna Hebbal named as the trap-laying officer.
A case has been registered as Crime No. 11/2026 under Section 7(a) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, as amended in 2018, the police update said.
Lokayukta police said Hanumanthappa was taken into custody and further investigation is in progress.
