Students had returned from Kerala to PG facility run by Sambhram College
BENGALURU:
After 28 cases were reported from three Covid-19 clusters in Yelahanka, taking the total number of clusters in Bengaluru so far to 6, BBMP on Saturday confirmed another cluster of 8 fresh positive cases at a paying guest (PG) facility run by Sambhram College.
All 8 positive cases are students who had returned from Kerala. They are in the age group of 18-23 years and have been admitted in KC General Hospital.
“New clusters have emerged. We are surrounded by Kerala and Maharashtra where cases are rising,” BBMP chief Manjunatha Prasad was quoted as saying by ANI.
Containment zone
As per Prasad, the ‘Inspire Livesuit’ PG, managed by Sambhram College, had tested around 51 students of whom 8 tested positive. The PG has been declared a containment zone.
