Rs 1-crore sculpture is made of fibre-reinforced plastic and rotates
BENGALURU:
Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, who turned 78 on Saturday, inaugurated a ‘Make in India’ lion installed at Windsor Manor junction. The sculpture weighs over 1,000 kg and is made from fibre-reinforced plastic.
As part of the beautification of Windsor Manor junction, BBMP had installed the ‘Make In India’ artefact at a cost of ₹1 crore. The idea of the sculpture at the green traffic island was to ‘facilitate constructive dialogue between people and their surroundings’.
“This will be a model for the country. The statue has been installed at an elevation and can rotate. It will take nearly eight minutes for it to complete one rotation,” said BBMP Commissioner N Manjunatha Prasad.
