NIA arrests 2 in ISIS module case
Duo allegedly funded visits of Muslim youths to Syria to help ISIS
BENGALURU:
In connection with the Bengaluru-based ISIS module case, NIA on Wednesday arrested two persons, Ahamed Abdul Cader (40), s/o Mohamed Jamaludin r/o Ramanathpuram, Tamil Nadu and Irfan Nasir (33), s/o late Nasir Sattar r/o Frazer town, Bengaluru. Cader is a business analyst in a bank in Chennai and Nasir is a rice merchant in Bengaluru.
Following the arrest and interrogation of one Dr. Abdur Rahman @ Dr Brave r/o Bengaluru, it was found that Cader and Irfan Nasir were members of Hizb-ut-Tehrir, and had formed a group called ‘Quran Circle’, which radicalized Muslim youths in Bengaluru and funded their visits to Syria to aid and assist ISIS terrorists.
During searches at the premises of Cader and Nasir in Gurupana Palaya and Frazer Town in Bengaluru on October 7, incriminating material and electronic devices were seized.
Both accused were produced before the Special NIA Court, Bengaluru and remanded into NIA custody for 10 days.
