Ejipura–Kendriya Sadan Flyover Works Gain Momentum, Opening Likely This Year
Bengaluru: Construction work on the long-delayed Ejipura–Kendriya Sadan Flyover has picked up significant pace, with authorities now targeting completion of the major structural works by October 2026.
The infrastructure project is currently being executed under the supervision of the Greater Bengaluru Authority and the Bengaluru South City Corporation.
Chief Engineer Dr. Raghavendra Prasad said the flyover works are progressing rapidly after resolution of several pending technical and land-related hurdles.
According to officials:
- The long-pending St. John’s Portal Frame issue was resolved in February 2026
- All foundation works have now been completed
- Out of a total 762 segments, 728 segments have already been cast
- Only 15 spans remain to be installed
- The main flyover structure is expected to be completed by the end of October 2026
Authorities stated that the flyover is expected to be opened for public traffic within this year, providing major relief to commuters struggling with congestion in the Ejipura, Koramangala and Intermediate Ring Road corridor.
Once operational, the flyover is expected to significantly improve connectivity between central and southeast Bengaluru while easing peak-hour traffic bottlenecks in one of the city’s busiest stretches.
