Bengaluru: The Karnataka Lokayukta has filed a chargesheet against three government officials in connection with an alleged encroachment and manipulation of government land worth nearly ₹50 crore in Bengaluru.

According to officials, the chargesheet has been filed against Shekhar Thangayya and two other officials under provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act, including Section 13(1).

The case pertains to alleged irregularities involving modification of land records related to a government property located on the 80 Feet Road at Michael Palya in Bengaluru.

Investigators alleged that valuable government land was illegally encroached upon and that official records were allegedly manipulated to facilitate the encroachment.

Following investigation into the alleged misuse of authority and land record tampering, Lokayukta officials have now submitted the chargesheet before the court.

The land involved in the case is estimated to be worth around ₹50 crore.

Further legal proceedings in the matter are expected to continue based on the findings submitted by the Lokayukta investigation team.
