Bengaluru Rains Claim Another Life: Youth Dies of Electrocution in Yarab Nagar, Toll Rises to 8
Bengaluru: The toll from the ongoing rain-related incidents in Bengaluru has risen to eight, with a young man dying of electrocution in Yarab Nagar, highlighting growing concerns over public safety during extreme weather conditions.
The deceased has been identified as Syed Sufiyan, a youth who had recently passed his First PUC and was preparing to begin his second-year college studies. The tragic incident occurred while he was parking his bike, when he reportedly came into contact with a live electric source during the heavy rains.
This comes shortly after the wall collapse near Bowring Hospital, which claimed seven lives earlier in the day. With this latest incident, the number of fatalities linked to the sudden downpour in the city has increased further.
Family members and locals expressed shock over the untimely death of the young student, whose future was cut short just as he was about to continue his education.
Authorities have urged citizens to remain cautious during heavy rains, especially around electric poles, waterlogged areas, and exposed wiring. The incident has once again raised serious questions about urban infrastructure safety and preventive measures during the monsoon season.
