Massive Fire in Bengaluru’s Nandini Layout: 50 Women Escape in Dramatic Midnight Rescue
Bengaluru: A major fire accident in Nandini Layout late Sunday night nearly turned into a tragedy, but around 50 young women managed a miraculous escape from a four-storey building after flames rapidly spread from a ground-floor LED shop.
The incident occurred around 12:30 am at an LED display manufacturing unit named Blue Leaf, where a suspected short circuit triggered the blaze. The fire quickly engulfed the building and spread to an adjacent paying guest (PG) accommodation where over 50 women were staying.
With no safe exit available as flames intensified, several women reportedly jumped from the upper floors of the building to save their lives. Visuals from the scene showed terrified residents leaping from the building and running onto the streets. While a few sustained minor injuries, all occupants managed to escape without any loss of life.
According to the PG owner, the building was being used to accommodate tenants temporarily, and all residents were evacuated in time. “We managed to wake everyone up and move them out. Thankfully, no one suffered serious injuries. God saved the children,” the owner said, adding that the entire building has been severely damaged in the fire.

The fire also destroyed goods worth crores inside the LED shop. A parked bike and a Bolero vehicle stationed in front of the shop were also gutted in the blaze. Notably, a large LED cutout reportedly worth around ₹4 lakh was completely burnt.
Fire and emergency services rushed to the spot and managed to bring the situation under control. Authorities confirmed that no casualties were reported, though the property loss is significant.
Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation. Preliminary findings point to a short circuit as the likely cause of the fire, but a detailed probe is underway.
All rescued women have been shifted to a safer accommodation, and officials are continuing to assess the extent of damage caused by the incident.
