SWR General Manager Sanjeev Kishore tells Karnataka MPs their suggestions will get top priority

HUBBALI/BENGALURU:

South Western Railway has added 50 km of new lines and 174 km of doubling to its network from April 2020 till August 2021, Sanjeev Kishore, General Manager, South Western Railway, said on Saturday.

He was speaking at a meeting at Hubballi’s Rail Soudha with MPs within the jurisdiction of the Hubballi division of SWR.

Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Coal and Mines, Ramesh Jigajinagi, MP from Vijayapura, PC Gaddigoudar, MP from Bagalkot, Karadi Sanganna, MP from Koppal, Y Devendrappa, MP from Ballari, Mangal Angadi, MP from Belagavi, Iranna Kadadi, Rajya Sabha MP, Vinay Tendulkar, Rajya Sabha MP, and Sanjaykaka Patil, MP from Sangli participated in the meeting. Dr Jaisiddeshwar Shivacharya Mahaswamiji, MP from Solapur attended the meeting through video conference.

50 km of new lines, 174 km of doubling added to Karnataka rail network

Kishore highlighted the performance of South Western Railway and recent rail developments in the zone.

Rail issues discussed

The progress of various railway projects like new lines, doubling and electrification of railway tracks, provision of passenger amenities, provision of stoppage of trains, construction of Road Over bridges/Road Under Bridges, and station redevelopment work was discussed in the meeting.

ಇಂದು ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿಯ ಗದಗ ರಸ್ತೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ರೈಲ್‌ ಸೌಧದಲ್ಲಿ ನೈರುತ್ಯ ರೈಲ್ವೆಯ ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿ ವಿಭಾಗೀಯ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯ ಸನ್ಮಾನ್ಯ ಸಂಸದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಭೆಯನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ವಿವಿಧ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳ ಪ್ರಗತಿಯ ಕುರಿತು ಈ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಚರ್ಚಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.

Kishore assured the MPs that their advice and suggestions would be given the highest priority.

Arvind Malkhede, Divisional Railway Manager, Hubballi, Harishankar Verma, Principal Chief Operation Manager, Ashish Pandey, Dy General Manager, Deshratan Gupta, Chief Administrative Officer, Construction, SPS Gupta, Principal Chief Engineer, P Ravi Kumar, Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer, Manoj Mahajan, Principal Chief Electrical Engineer, Alok Kumar, Principal Chief Security Commissioner, Anil Pavitran, Principal Chief Commercial Manager, Milind K Deouskar, Senior Deputy General Manager and other senior SWR officer were present at the meeting.
