3rd death in Mangaluru; Karnataka toll 22

MANGALURU:

A 67-year-old woman from Bantwal’s Kasba, who had tested positive for the coronavirus, died at Wenlock Hospital in the district on Thursday.

The woman is the third fatality in Dakshina Kannada district. The other two deaths were also reported from Bantwal.

A health official said: “P409, 67-year- old female from Bantwal, DK was admitted to Wenlok Hospital with SARI (past history of COPD and diabetes) on 18/04/2020. Patient was on ventilator support and died today in Wenlock Hospital, DK.”

The woman was admitted to the hospital with respiratory problems on April 18, where she tested postive for the coronavirus. She had reportedly availed treatment from a private clinic in Bantwal before being admitted to Wenlock Hospital.

Till date, 22 persons have died in Karnataka of the coronavirus infection.
