Even as the current lockdown in Bengaluru is set to end early on Wednesday, the number of containment zones in the city has kept increasing. As of date, there are 9,797 containment zones. Active containment zones have increased by 2,238 in the past 24 hours for a total of 8,398. Bengaluru South has the most number of active containment zones, followed by Bengaluru East.
The city had 33,329 positive cases till July 19. On July 20, it reported 1,452 new Covid cases
Percentage wise, positive cases in the last 24 hours were: Bengaluru South 26%, East 24% , West 15% , Yelahanka 11%, Bommanahalli 10 %, Dasarahalli 2 %, RR Nagar 6 % and Mahadevapura 6%.
Meanwhile, as per the BBMP bulletin, Covid Care Centres have 669 vacant beds out of 3,606, hospitals have 4,896 vacant beds out of 8584, and 8,368 patients are in home isolation.
